SAVE MONEY BY CONSERVING WATER IN YOUR HOME

Conserving water and reusing water in your home can save money on your water bill. If you ever have any leftover water or ice that you are not using, you should use it to water your plants.  You can reuse water in other ways around the house, such as using the water from baths or from doing dishes.  The soap that is found in these types of water are not going to hurt your plants either since what you need to truly be concerned about are phosphates and the only place that these are found are in dishwasher detergents, not the liquid dish soap that you use to wash your dishes by hand.  Avoid bits of food in the dish washing water if you are using them on plants because it may attract pests and pets. Of course, this is just one of the many ways in which you can go about conserving water within your home.  Some other ideas include:

1.     Do not run the water for longer than you need to.
2.     Use a low flow toilet.
3.     Replace your shower head with the lowest flow possible.
4.     Install flow restrictors within your faucets.
5.     Only wash full loads of laundry.
6.     Never rinse dishes before putting them in your dishwasher.
7.     Promptly fix all leaks.

Regardless of how you conserve water, you are not only doing the environment a favor but you are also doing a big favor for your pocketbook as well because it will reduce your utilities.
