If you enjoy the arts, you should take in some of the local art scene. Many communities have poetry readings, art openings, high school plays or college plays, and community theaters. These events can be both fun and inexpensive.

While you may find that some of the prices of these tickets are affordable, you can still find ways to save more and receive additional discounts. One way to get a discount is by getting a group of your friends together and buying tickets as a group, so you are eligible to get a bulk discount. Such discounts are put into place in order to encourage people to go out and see these productions and you really should take advantage of it. Another such discount that you should always remember to take advantage of whenever possible are student ID’s and senior discounts. Of course, this type of discount is somewhat limited but it is still there to be used for those who qualify.
Keep an eye out for online and newspaper announcements of discounts. You should always be on the lookout for these types of discounts as they will allow you to enjoy the local art scene without paying outrageous prices to do so.
