SAVE MONEY ON BEVERAGES
Saving money by drinking more water is easier said than done, you really do need to stop spending so much money on beverages if your goal is to save money. While you may be surprised to find this out, beverages actually have unbelievably high profit margins. The normal cost of a soda at a restaurant is $1.50. This is the same price that you would pay for a 2 liter in the grocery store. Of course, you are going to get a lot more soda out of the 2 liter than you will be able to drink during the course of a meal at a restaurant. This is why whenever you do eat out you should drink the ice water that comes complimentary with your meal instead of ordering iced tea, punch, or a soft drink. The other advantage to stopping drinking so much soda is that soda is not good for you. By increasing the amount of water you drink it can also lead to weight loss and an improvement of health. When you do drink soda, buy the 2 litter bottles because they are most economical.
Another place in which you may be throwing your money down the tube is with drinking bottled water at home. Studies have proven that bottled water is no better than the water that comes out of your tap. With this in mind, you would be better off buying a filter for your tap water. Once you buy a filter, buy some take along thermoses. Then learn to love water more.
You should also try some of the generic beverages. Many of these taste no better or worse than their name brand competitors. This is especially true with things like coffee. Instead of buying gourmet coffee, give your store’s generic brand a try. You will be surprised by how similar they really do taste.
If you watch what you are drinking and how you are drinking it, you really will save yourself some money.
